‘Saving them here, but they’re dying there…’
Well, it’s simple, we can save ‘Kenyan’ elephants right here at home as much as we like, with the support of dozens of organizations; but the sad reality that we must face, is that ‘Kenyan’ elephants are crossing the borders into Tanzania daily, and with an estimated loss of between 30-60 elephants every single day to poachers there, how efficient are we really in saving our heritage?
Currently, Tanzania is receiving minimal if any support at all to protect ‘their’ elephants, and what we fail to factor into this urgent equation, is the hard fact, that elephants know no borders, nor do they have any nationalities. ‘Kenyan’ elephants are dropping dead just a stone’s-throw away. Can we really afford to let this continue unabated? We MUST extend a helping hand to our neighbours, for the sake of our national heritage, our elephants.
(and for the very sake of humanity! we are ONE!)
